Petron sells Gasul cooking gas

KUALA LUMPUR: Petron Malaysia Refining & Marketing Bhd will begin marketing Gasul brand gas at five petrol stations in the Klang Valley and Melaka this month.

Petron Malaysia retail trade head Faridah Ali said the increase beyond the initial five stations to sell Gasul would be considered based on customer demand.

"Since the first five stations, namely three in Klang Valley and two in Melaka, are pioneer projects, we have not set any specific targets to increase the number of stations.

"It will depend on customer demand and we will also evaluate stations that are located near the residential areas that has the potential to offer Gasul," he told the media after launching Petron Gasul's sale at Petron Persiaran Bandar Utama station near Petaling Jaya yesterday.

The launch was officiated by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Datuk Seri Jamil Salleh.

Also present was Petron Malaysia commercial head Choong Kum Choy.

Consumers can purchase Gasul gas that comes in 12 kilograms and 14 kilograms cylinders at Petron stations in Persiaran Bandar Utama, Subang Parade and Teluk Panglima Garang (Klang Valley) as well as Cheng and Ayer Keroh in Melaka.

Faridah said cooking gas sold in a cash and carry concept enables consumers to bring back the purchased cylinders without any delivery charges.

"The launch of Gasul gas at Petron station is inline with the company's motto in fulfilling our promise in providing better products and services.

"With such services, we believe it will change the industry's pace.

"As consumers can now buy Gasul at selected stations seven days a week including public holidays, we are optimistic that more stations will offer Gasul in the future to accommodate consumer demand," he said.

Gasul brand was introduced in the local market since 2012.

It was offered at a control price of RM22.80 for 12 kg and RM26.60 (14 kg).
