BAE Systems to continue partnership with CSM

KUALA LUMPUR: British defence, security, and aerospace company BAE Systems will continue its partnership with CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM) by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the upcoming Defence Services Asia 2018 (DSA).

"As we enter into a period of global uncertainty and with the prevalence of international cybercrime, DSA 2018 presents a great opportunity to continue to foster the relationships we have with our partners here in Malaysia and across Asia,” said John Brosnan, BAE Systems managing director for South East Asia in a recent statement.

“We are confident with the industrial outlook here in Malaysia, and we believe the DSA 2018 is the best forum for us to showcase our capabilities in terms of aerospace engineering, cybersecurity and education which are all achieved through local partnerships.”

BAE Systems will also renew its commitment to the Chevening Scholarship Programme, which begun in 2012.

Since then, the firm has sponsored over 50 Malaysian post graduate students since 2012 and has remained as one of the largest contributors to the Chevening Programme in this country.

The BAE Systems exhibition at the DSA 2018 stand will feature models of the Eurofighter Typhoon, multi role combat aircraft as well as the Hawk Trainer Jet.

The Hawk is currently in service with the Royal Malaysian Air Force and Eurofighter Typhoon is being considered as the RMAF’s next fast jet fighter.

Also featured on the stand will be models of the Archer Artillery System, the 105mm and L118 Light Gun, L118 Light and BAE System’s Offshore Patrol Vessel.

One of the key highlights at the BAE Systems exhibition stand is a large interactive cyber display that will allow visitors to discover the ways in which BAE Systems Applied Intelligence is able protect Malaysia.

BAE Systems has been supporting Malaysian businesses and the Malaysian Armed Forces with trusted and proven solutions across land, sea, air and cyber defence for over 50 years from its regional headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.

It currently employ over 400 people in Malaysia and has generated a further 7000 jobs across the country.

The DSA 2018 will run from 16th to 19th April at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition (MITEC).
