Advancecon sees minimal impact on ongoing projects

KUALA LUMPUR: Earthworks and civil engineering services specialist Advancecon Holdings Bhd sees minimal impact on its ongoing projects following the new Government’s plan to review mega projects

The group said it has a robust outstanding order book of RM936.4 million, comprising earthworks for infrastructure projects such as the West Coast Expressway, Pan Borneo Highway, South Klang Valley Expressway and township developments for reputable property developers such as Gamuda and Tropicana.

“Our order book should provide earnings visibility for the next 24 months,” Advancecon said in a statement today.

Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Phum Ang Kia said the group was optimistic on the Government’s recent announcement that mega infrastructure projects would be awarded via open tender and competitive bidding.

“We stand to benefit from such an approach due to our proven track record of over 25 years in the industry.

“With regards to the review of existing infrastructure projects and the abolishment of road toll by stages, we do not expect any adverse impact to our existing infrastructure projects, such as the West Coast Expressway and Pan Borneo Highway going forward,” he said.

Phum added that the group was confident of winning several more projects this year.
