KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has inked memorandum of understandings (MoUs) with four major aviation players at the Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) to position Malaysia as a global hub.
The MoUs with Daher, ExecuJet, IER and XPeranti and Sigfox were signed at the the Farnborough International Airshow in the UK today.
MAHB said the partnership will generally be the kickstart of the co-creation framework that would translate in passengers experiencing the enhanced services that are automated and digitalised.
“We are embarking on the Airports 4.0 digital transformation journey and today’s collaborations formed are timely,” MAHB chief strategy officer Azli Mohamed said in a statement.
Azli said a seamless airport journey did not only focus on the passenger’s destination but started right from the point when a passenger steps into the airport to board his flight.
“Every touchpoint at our airports is important to provide a positive perception and a joyful experience to passengers. As an aspiring global service leader operating 39 airports, we are very much driven by this aim, to provide the best experience to our passengers.
“The fact that we are managing Malaysia’s main gateway and 4 other international airports in the country, it is vital for us to initiate and take the extra miles in executing improvement initiatives continuously for the benefit of our passengers,” he added.
Azli said with the support from IER, the company was co-designing a Proof of Concept on digital automation process targeted for one of the international airports in Malaysia with unique profiling of passengers and destinations.
“We hope that this will be a successful implementation with the onboarding of our strategic partners which could potentially result in a development of a joint intellectual property,” Azli added.
Daher and ExecuJet will be part of the Subang Airport regeneration, he said.
“Earlier this year, we initiated the Subang Airport Regeneration Initiative by partnering with several major aerospace and industry players such as Axis REIT Real Estate Investment Trust, Senior Aerospace UPECA and Skyways Technics as a catalyst for the Subang Aerotech Park development.
“This further regeneration of the Subang Airport ecosystem that also houses Spirit AeroSystems, Airbus Helicopters Malaysia, GE Aviation and Global Turbine Asia-Safran Helicopter Engines is expected to create a spill-over effect into KLIA Aeropolis in the future.
“Therefore, by partnering Daher and ExecuJet, we hope to boost the current airport ecosystems and provide more solutions to the industry.”
Daher, a French based aircraft maker and services provider, will focus on aircraft manufacturing, aerospace equipment and systems and as well as industrial logistics and services for the regeneration initiative.
ExecuJet, which is part of the Luxaviation Group, will offer a diverse range of services, including aircraft management for private and commercially registered aircraft, charter, maintenance, completions management and fixed base operations.
