Serba Dinamik bags RM313m onshore svc job from Petronas

KUCHING: Sarawak’s oil and gas industry is expected to see new opportunities in employment and capability-building following the signing of a RM313 million contract between Serba Dinamik Holding Bhd and Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd here, today.

Under the contract, Serba Dinamik, an international energy services group, is to provide maintenance, construction and modification services to Petronas facilities in the state.

The contract involves Packages D (Bintulu-Sarawak Gas) and Package E (Miri-Sarawak Gas) onshore facilities in the Miri Crude Oil Terminal and Asam Paya onshore facilities; and the Bintulu Integrated facilities.

Serba Dinamik was represented by its supply chain management vice-president, Mohd Izham Abdullah and managing director Datuk Awang Daud Awang Putera at the signing ceremony, while Petronas was represented by group procurement project delivery and technology vice-president Samsudin Miskon and head of procurement Noor Mohamad Taj Mohammed.

The event was witnessed by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, Petronas president and group chief executive officer Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin and Serba Dinamik group chief executive office Datuk Dr Mohd Abdul Karim Abdullah.

Abdul Karim said the contract award for the Miri and Bintulu facilities reflected Serba Dinamik’s good track record in terms of quality of work and timely delivery without compromising the safety aspects.

“We are appreciative of the support from Petronas and the confidence they have in us, which is evident by the contract awarded to the company,” he said.

The the contract is for a period of three years effective Dec 12, 2018 and shall expire three years thereafter, with an option for an extension for a further two years.

At the event, Serba Dinamik appointed two local Oil and Gas Services and Equipment companies under the Petronas Vendor Development Programme which is aimed at empowering and upskilling local companies to enhance their competitiveness in the open market.

The two companies, namely Ropetech Sdn Bhd and Eastwind Solutins Sdn Bhd, will receive guidance and mentorship from Serba Dinamik and undergo capability-building programmes designed and monitored by Petronas.
