Two companies shortlisted for third national car project

KUALA LUMPUR: Two car manufacturers have been shortlisted for the third national car project, according to Entrepreneur Development Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof.

The third national car project was mooted by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. The “Look East Policy” was also Dr Mahathir’s brainchild when he was prime minister the first time and now he has revived it .

Based on the hint, it is likely that a Japanese car manufacturer will spearhead the third national car project. The first is the Proton stable and the second the Perodua makes.
