KUALA LUMPUR: Icon Offshore Bhd has received an extension to its long-term charter contract of its vessel Icon Valiant in Brunei via a variation effective October 31.
The extension from Zell Transportation Sdn Bhd is from November 1 this year to February 28 2021 with a further extension option from March 1 2021 to February 28 2023.
“This is a variation to the initial contract that was announced on March 9 2017. The contract extension is valued at RM33.4 million,” the company said.
Icon Offshore managing director Datuk Seri Hadian Hashim said since it entered Brunei in 2014, it had never looked back. “It is a promising indication of Icon’s capabilities and builds upon a strong partnership with its clients.”
On October 4 this year, Icon announced that its wholly-owned Icon Offshore Group Sdn Bhd had secured a RM36 million contract to provide one offshore supply vessel for Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd.
Year to date, Icon has secured 13 contracts worth RM290 million inclusive of extensions.
