Winners of GET Global Challenge annouced

KUALA LUMPUR: The 12 finalists of the Alibaba GET Global Challenge 2020 (Malaysia) presented their digital solutions to the judges at the Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC) in Cyberjaya on Saturday.

The international competition was organised by ITS Management Sdn Bhd, an authorised Alibaba GET channel partner in Malaysia, together with Alibaba Cloud as an official strategic partner.

It is supported by Stellavingze International Sdn Bhd, which is the co-organiser and title sponsor of the competition.

The competition has also gained support from Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation, MaGIC, CyberSecurity Malaysia and Yayasan Wanita Cemerlang.

HELP University's FoodXless emerged as champions, followed by TheMovement from Taylor's University, I-Farm from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, ACE from Sunway University and Team Fitee from Taylor's University.

According to the Alibaba Group, the competition had attracted 208 teams from 28 institutes of higher learning and 29 other groups in Malaysia.

"The Alibaba GET Global Challenge 2020 is an international youth digital solution competition launched by Alibaba Business School in April, with more than 13 countries participating.

"The competition aims to help individuals, organisation and businesses recover faster and stronger from the Covid-19 epidemic," it said.

Alibaba Group partner and vice-president Zhang Yu said the group had seen examples of how digital transformation could play a key role in easing day-to-day struggles and improving work productivity and quality of life.

"We hope the challenge will spur the creation of more life-changing solutions, not just for now but for the future as well," he added.
