Duopharma Biotech's ESG roadmap targets carbon neutrality by 2030, net zero carbon emissions by 2050

KUALA LUMPUR: Duopharma Biotech Bhd has announced its environmental pledges in conjunction with its latest environmental, social and governance (ESG) roadmap.

The company said for the environment pillar within the ESG strategy, it had targeted climate performance as a key focus area, aiming to reduce and minimise activities that contribute to an adverse climate impact.

In particular, Duopharma Biotech aspires to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030, net zero carbon emissions by 2050 and replace 50 per cent of single use plastics with biodegradable plastics within its operations by 2026.

"We have aligned our environmental pledges within our ESG roadmap with the government's environmental targets as well as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

"In achieving environmental goals, it is crucial to have collaborations with like-minded organisations," said its group managing director Leonard Ariff Abdul Shatar.

"For our climate performance targets, we are working with the United Nations Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei to train our team on climate awareness, carbon neutrality and net zero awareness, as well as for our Annual Sustainability Report, which is published online for all investors and stakeholders to review."
