KUALA LUMPUR: Lazada Malaysia has launched the Laz Halal online store, offering consumers more accessible access to a greater variety of local and international halal products.
These products have been verified and authenticated with the Islamic Development Department Malaysia (Jakim) halal certification.
In a statement, Lazada said the Laz Halal channel also aims to support local entrepreneurs keen to market their halal-certified products to a growing customer base that considers halal as a key factor in their purchasing decisions.
Laz Halal will be an expanded channel for businesses to reach out to more customers that increasingly shop online for halal-certified groceries, food and beverages (F&B), household items, health and wellness, fashion, beauty and a variety of other halal products.
Chief customer officer Syarif Lee said Laz Halal would give consumers the confidence to purchase certified, good quality, and value-for-money halal products from a trusted online destination.
"We are excited that this specialised channel will give businesses big and small an added opportunity to drive sales and engagement with customers.
"With Aidiladha fast approaching, we are glad we can be a part of the festivities.
"And after Hari Raya Haji, Laz Halal will continue to offer a variety of halal-certified products for our local consumers," he said.
Jakim director-general Datuk Hakimah Mohd Yusoff said the platform would benefit the Muslim community while strengthening the department's strategic effort on the halal front.
"Our role is to ensure the integrity of the halal logo with the halal certification issued by Jakim and other global halal certification authorities recognised by Jakim are safeguarded and respectfully managed and governed.
"This proactive move by Lazada to create a dedicated halal online store that offers products with verified halal certification is a step in the right direction," she said.
The Laz Halal icon and banner are available on the home page of Lazada Malaysia, making it easier for customers to access, browse, and add to their cart their halal-certified products while enjoying the exclusive deals and discounts during Lazada's 7.7 Mid-Year Mega Sale.
