LYC Healthcare inks agreement with CuraLife to distribute diabetic supplement in Malaysia, Singapore

KUALA LUMPUR: LYC Healthcare Berhad (LYC), via its wholly-owned subsidiary, LYC Nutrihealth Sdn Bhd (LYCN), signed an exclusive distribution agreement with CuraLife Spain S.L.U (CuraLife) to distribute a diabetic supplement product known as Curalin in Malaysia and Singapore.

Manufactured in the European Union and the United States, Curalin is a herbal dietary supplement with proven efficacy in promoting a healthy glycemic response and energy levels.

It reduces the craving for sugar and other carbohydrates and promotes healthy weight loss.

LYC managing director and group chief executive officer David Sui said that adding Curalin will widen LYC's growing portfolio of nutraceutical products targeted to improve health, increase life expectancy and slows ageing.

"The risk of diabetes increases with age, making the disease more common in older adults.

"Currently, an estimated one in every five Malaysians and every nine Singaporeans are living with diabetes, and this figure is expected to grow further with Malaysia and Singapore being an ageing population," he said.

Vice president of partnerships Marco Fortino said diabetes is a chronic disease that affects millions globally.

"We are excited to further expand the market reach of Curalin into the ASEAN region, starting with Malaysia and Singapore.

"In our view, LYC is the right strategic partner for us as we can leverage their business network and market knowledge of the nutraceutical and healthcare industries in both countries," he said.

This was the first agreement entered into by LYC to distribute a finished product.

Up until now, the company has supplied in-house products such as LYC Mom-Lacta for lactating mothers, LYC Flora Gut, which promotes gut health, LYC Brev-Long for improved immunity, especially for post-Covid 19 customers, LYC Flex-Join, which improves joint health and mobility, LYC Osteo-Bon for strong bones, and LYC Cogni-Phenol, which supports brain health and improves memory.

To expand its nutraceutical segment further, LYC aims to embark on distribution arrangements with other manufacturers and product owners.
