KUALA LUMPUR: Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care (RSDH) has entered into an agreement with leading multinational healthcare and biotech company Roche Diagnostics (M) Sdn Bhd to adopt the RocheDiabetes care platform (RDCP) across its hospitals in Malaysia.
RSDH said its timely move to adopt RDCP would allow for more shared decision-making in order to improve management of the disease and mitigate secondary health complications.
RSDH group chief executive officer Peter Hong said emerging technologies were reshaping healthcare in multiple ways and the pandemic had served as a catalyst for the greater adoption of telehealth services around the globe.
"This has radically changed the way medical practitioners and healthcare providers care for patients.
"By offering user-friendly digital solutions, we are revolutionising the treatment and management of diabetes while accelerating efficiency and narrowing the digital gap in healthcare practice in Malaysia," said Hong.
RDCP organises and distills relevant diabetes patient data into structured visualisations that support informed and personalised treatment decisions.
With visibility and access to a broad spectrum of individual patient data, healthcare professionals can derive insights for therapy intervention and treatment solutions with their patients.
"We are creating patient-centred value with our partners by fostering sustainable healthcare structures through an integrated Personalised Diabetes Management (iPDM) approach," said Roche Diagnostics cluster head of Asia Pacific Mature Market Bryan Koh.
Subang Jaya Medical Centre, ParkCity Medical Centre and Bukit Tinggi Medical Centre have implemented RDCP, while the platform is expected to go live at Ara Damansara Medical Centre in April 2023.
