Johor Port and Petronas Chemicals celebrate 100 days milestone

KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Port Bhd's partnership with Petronas Chemicals Labuan (PCML) Ltd achieved a significant milestone by commemorating 100 days of operational success.

Since the commencement of the first leg connectivity from Pengerang to Pasir Gudang, operated by GU Shipping Sdn Bhd in June 2023, Johor Port has handled an outstanding throughput volume of over 10,000 TEUs to date.

Throughout these 100 days, PCML has shown a positive commitment to delivering export shipments via the Malaysia southern gateway, underscoring the trust placed in Johor Port.

The port's team consistently met and exceeded expectations in terms of safety, efficiency and environmental responsibility.

Johor Port chief executive officer Md Derick Basir said PCML's trust reflects the port's commitment to efficiency and safety.

"This has reaffirmed Johor Port as the preferred trade and commerce hub in line with our goal to be the region's most efficient and fully integrated multi-purpose port," he said in a statement.
