KUALA LUMPUR: Sersol Bhd has sacked Datuk Justin Lim Hwa Tat, as the company's chief executive officer effective Monday, November 6, 2023.
The company said, in a filing with Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd today, the action to terminate him is due to his absence from office without proper notice, and non-response to a show cause letter sent by the company following his suspension as CEO on August 30, 2023.
Justin Lim has been in the news since July 12, 2023, when the MACC's Investigation Division sent out a notice for him to come forward to assist in an investigation into a false claims case.
It was then revealed that Justin Lim had been overseas since Feburary 2023, but was still CEO of Sersol.
Filings with Bursa Malaysia Securities, show that Justin Lim still holds a 23.12 per cent interest in Sersol.
Justin Lim resigned as a director of SMTrack Bhd, another listed company, on August 15, 2023.
