EPF to name new CEO in "due course"

KUALA LUMPUR: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) today said an announcement on the replacement for its outgoing chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan will be made in due course.

Amir Hamzah was appointed Finance Minister II today, following a cabinet reshuffle which saw Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan replaced with Lim Hui Ying, who previously held the post of Deputy Education Minister.

Ahmad Maslan will hold the post of Deputy Works Minister in the cabinet.

Amir Hamzah joined the EPF in March 2021.

Amir Hamzah's departure follows that of EPF chief strategy officer Nurhisham Hussein who is seconded to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) in October 2023 to serve a two-year term there.

He is now senior director of economics and finance at PMO.

EPF's remaining top management includes chief investment officer Rohaya Mohammad Yusof, chief operating officer Sazali Zainuddin, chief financial officer Mohamad Hafiz Kassim, and chief digital technology officer, Muhammad Afhzal Abdul Rahman.
