Proton returns to C-segment sedan market with Proton S70

KUALA LUMPUR: National automaker Proton has made a comeback to the C-segment sedan market with the introduction of its Proton S70, after releasing three SUV models since 2018, the Proton X70, Proton X50, and Proton X90, respectively.

The carmaker said in a statement today that the development of the new Proton S70 required 260,000 man-hours from Proton's research and development engineers, demonstrating the brand's dedication to innovation and cooperation with Malaysia's automotive ecosystem.

The Proton S70 underwent extensive testing, with 1.2 million kilometers driven by Proton and Geely engineers, demonstrating the company's commitment to providing a finely engineered sedan for discriminating consumers, it said.

According to Roslan Abdullah, deputy chief executive officer of Proton, the company has accomplished many milestones this year, making it a remarkable year.

"Now, we are thrilled to officially launch the Proton S70 in this dynamic region. Since we introduced this Segment-C sedan last month, we have received over 4,000 bookings," he said.

Roslan expressed his excitement about the overwhelmingly positive response from the public and the increasing demand for the cars, eagerly anticipating the opportunity for fellow East Malaysians to own their very own Proton S70.

"With the brand-new Proton S70, our goal is to set new benchmarks in this competitive segment while ensuring more Malaysian drivers get to experience our dynamic and intelligent products," said Roslan.

Buyers of the Proton S70 will receive a comprehensive package of benefits for an enhanced ownership experience.

The standard package is inclusive of five years of unlimited mileage warranty and six complimentary labour services.
