Chin Kim Sang set up Minetech Construction Sdn Bhd in 1989, to provide specialised drilling and blasting, loading and haulage services, focusing on rock excavation and infrastructure development projects.
With Chin Kim Sang's resignation to spend more time with family, his son Chin Jet Choy ceased to be an alternate director.
Another son of Choy Sen, Chin Sheong Choy also resigned to pursue other interests.
His resignation comes just two weeks after he was redesignated as executive director in the company with the entry of Abang Abdillah.
Only one other member of the Chin family, Chin Leong Choy remains on the board. He is currently executive director of business development and operations
According to Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd's filings, the Chin family owns a collective 8.2 per cent interest in the company.
Abang Abdillah which acquired a 15.58 per cent stake in Minetech on Dec 24, 2023, currently holds a16.828 per cent stake in the company.
Minetech announced the appointment of a new director with the departure of Chin Kim Sang and Chin Sheong Choy.
