KUALA LUMPUR: Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd's subsidiary Kerjaya Prospek (M) Sdn Bhd has been awarded a contract valued at RM170.9 million from Persada Mentari Sdn Bhd, an indirect subsidiary of Eastern & Oriental Bhd (E&O).
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said the job involves the construction of a 45-storey main building for a service apartment development on Pulau Andaman, Penang.
The scope includes a 38-storey service apartment block, a two-storey basement car park, a five-storey elevated car park, facilities floor, as well as the provision of wardrobe, kitchen cabinet and vanity mirror for typical units.
The contract is expected to commence on Jan 18 and will take 35 months to complete.
Kerjaya Prospek chief executive officer and executive director Datuk Tee Eng Tiong said 2024 will be another year to manifest the company's resilience and capability as a construction player.
"To build on this, we are proud to begin the year with a strong footing backed by this award which will mark the first of many that we aim to achieve for the year. With this award, our outstanding order book remains ample at RM4.5 billion which will provide long-term earnings visibility for years to come," he said in a statement.
Tee expressed confidence in Kerjaya Prospek's capacity to secure additional residential development projects, leveraging its proven track record and expertise in high-rise construction.
Simultaneously, the company aims to seize favourable opportunities across diverse construction segments poised for growth in 2024, thereby enhancing its capabilities.
