Disprz keen to transform Malaysia's labour market

KUALA LUMPUR: India-based Disprz aims to transform Malaysia's labour market because it is confident in the skill-building and talent-development prospects the country offers.

It intends to achieve this by using AI algorithms to identify the precise abilities needed for every position inside an organisation.

According to Subbu Viswanathan, co-founder and chief executive officer of Disprz, this would open the door for specialised training programs designed to equip staff to fulfill changing market expectations.

In addition, Viswanatha highlighted the company's future goals in the wake of its August 2023 US$30 million Series C fundraising round.

After obtaining $30 million, he said that Disprz is now in a strong position to seek international expansion, especially in Southeast Asia, which includes Malaysia, India, and the Middle East, in addition to entering the US market.

Set up in 2015, Disprz aims to have 1,500 clients globally by 2026.

Viswanatha said that the company's attempts to expand throughout Southeast Asia demonstrate its dedication to fostering positive change and empowering people in the area.

"One of the markets that we are particularly keen on expanding into is Malaysia. As we intensify our efforts in Malaysia, we are excited about the opportunity to work with more businesses and organisations across the country," he told Business Times.

Disprz has collaborations with over 25 clients in Malaysia, including RHB Bank Bhd, Petroliam Nasional Bhd, Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Bhd, and Maxis Bhd, to create transformative people experiences that drive business advancement.

According to Viswanatha, the company has also been selected by several government-linked companies and agencies, such as Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia, Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Bhd, and The Retirement Fund Inc, to deliver comprehensive skilling and learning solutions.

Meanwhile, he said that the company plans to hire data scientists, skilled scientists, and software engineers to shape the future of human advancement and human intelligence by utilising some of the newly secured funds.

"We are in the business of providing platforms to companies to help them solve the problem of skilling their workforce for the jobs of today and tomorrow.

"With a focus on amplifying our customer base, Disprz is poised to accelerate our expansion in Malaysia, driving significant impact and empowering organisations to thrive in an ever-evolving business landscape," he added.
