HAS International to buy H175 helicopters from Airbus

KUALA LUMPUR: Offshore helicopter services provider HAS International Sdn Bhd (HAS) has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Airbus for the acquisition of H175 helicopters.

HAS said the decision to opt for the H175 helicopters aligns with its strategic expansion initiatives within the offshore oil and gas sector.

Recognising the H175 as the optimal choice for their operations, HAS emphasises the aircraft's cutting-edge technological advancements.

It said that the partnership with Airbus underscores its commitment to safety and operational efficiency in offshore endeavors.

The H175's advanced features ensure enhanced safety measures and operational capabilities, further reinforcing HAS's position as a reliable service provider in the industry.

Moreover, the H175 helicopters are certified to operate with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), in line with HAS's sustainability objectives.

This initiative underscores HAS's dedication to reducing its carbon footprint and promoting environmental responsibility within its operations.

"This continuation of our partnership with Airbus attests to our commitment to revolutionising offshore helicopter operations. We are leveraging technology innovation for cost efficiency and better safety margins while at the same time collaborating towards the aspirational goals of global sustainability with environmentally responsible aviation practices," said HAS managing director Hasery Bakar.

He added that the acquisition of these helicopters for the company's current fleet will enable it to offer better value to esteemed clients.

The MoU was signed at the Helicopter Association International (HAI) Heli Expo 2024.

At the same event, HAS was recognised for its attainment of the highest flying hours per month on an Airbus H175 helicopter for offshore oil and gas operations in the South Asian region.

It also recently celebrated its 3,000-flight-hour milestone in H175 operations.

These milestones were achieved within the company's first year of operations in Miri, Sarawak, where it operates for six multinational clients with about 45 offshore assets, with the furthest located at 190 nautical miles from its base in Miri Airport.

"The Airbus H175 has played an integral role in our success, and we are grateful for the unwavering support of our clients, partners, governing authorities, and the entire HAS team," added Hasery.
