Bursa Malaysia ends morning trade mixed as broader market stays in the red

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia ended morning trade mixed as the broader market stayed in the negative.

The key index was buoyed by buying in financial services and healthcare sectors.

At 12.30pm, FTSE Bursa Malaysia (FBM) KLCI was up 0.31 per cent or 4.76 points to 1,544.62 versus Friday's close of 1,539.86.

The key index which opened at 1,542.01 moved between 1,540.77 and 1,547.02 in morning trade.

The broader market however was negative with decliners surpassing gainers 452 to 424 while 449 counters remained unchanged.

Gainers were HeiTech Padu Bhd which rose 19.59 per cent or 48 sen to RM2.93 and Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd added 1.93 per cent or 56 sen to RM29.58.

On the losing end, Nestle (Malaysia) Bhd lost 0.74 per cent or 90 sen to RM121.10 and Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Bhd was down 1.65 per cent or 32 sen to RM19.06. On the index board,

FBM100 gained 0.33 per cent to 11,124.35, FBM Emas added 0.30 per cent to 11,457.49 and FBM Ace was up 0.33 per cent to 4,704.74.
