Tabung Haji says it is up to government to disclose RCI report

KUALA LUMPUR: Lembaga Tabung Haji today said that it is up to the government to disclose details of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on TH to the public.

Tabung Haji managing director and chief executive officer Syed Hamadah Syed Othman told reporters after its profit distribution rate announcement earlier, the institution does not have the authority to determine whether it should be made public, as it is subject to government policy.

"Tabung Haji has responded to all the recommendations made by the RCI to the government. "It is up to the government to disclose the report of RCI," he said in response to a query from the media.

The government received the then Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah's consent to set up a RCI to investigate matters related to Tabung Haji audits conducted by independent firms including PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, and Roland Berger between 2014 and 2020, following cabinet's decision on the matter in July 14, 2021 dan October 8, 2021.

The RCI was reportedly completed in July 2022.
