KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airlines Bhd has teamed up with travel industry expert Apple Vacations for a one-year strategic cruise partnership.
This initiative also involves collaboration with well-known global cruise lines like Peace Boat, Princess Cruises, Resorts World, and Uniworld River Cruises.
This partnership is part of Malaysia Airlines' ongoing efforts to position Malaysia as a top tourism destination in the ASEAN region.
In a statement today, Malaysia Airlines said by joining forces with Apple Vacations, it aims to enhance travel experiences by combining its seamless air travel services with Apple Vacations' wide network of reputable cruise partners.
It aims to cater to the varied preferences of travelers, offering them unique and unforgettable experiences both in the air and at sea.
Malaysia Aviation Group chief commercial officer Dersenish Aresandiran said, the collaboration not only expands its offerings' but also fuels a positive ripple effect throughout Malaysia's tourism industry.
"Together, we are pioneering new standards, revitalising the travel landscape, and positioning Malaysia as a premier destination for global travellers as well as anchoring Malaysia as a gateway to Asia and beyond," he added.
Apple Vacations co-founder and group managing director of Datuk Seri Koh Yock Heng said cruise vacations are rapidly gaining popularity, with both regional favourites like Resorts World Cruise and Royal Caribbean, as well as international options such as Princess Cruise for Alaska tour packages and Peace Boat for global excursions, captivating travellers.
River cruise packages along the Danube and Rhine rivers, currently offered by Uniworld Cruises, are also seeing a surge in interest.
Additionally, the emerging trend of fly-cruise packages is appealing to holiday-goers looking for seamless connectivity and convenient booking options, said Koh.
