Cypark Resources' 100MWac large scale solar plant starts initial operations

KUALA LUMPUR: Cypark Resources Bhd today announced that its 100MWac Large Scale Solar 3 (LSS3) hybrid solar plant project reached the Initial Operations (IOD) milestone on April 21, 2024.

The plant will reach full commercial operation within the coming two weeks.

"The LSS3 hybrid solar plant project is in line with Malaysia's goals for energy transition and showcases the country's ability to lead in developing innovative and sustainable energy solutions," it said.

According to Cypark Resources, the hybrid solar plant comprises 83MWac of ground-mounted solar PVs and 32MWac of floating solar PVs.

Cypark Resources executive director Datuk Ami Moris said the company has undergone significant changes in the past year to ensure the successful delivery of the hybrid power plant operates with high quality standards.

"Cypark Resources is once again proud to be contributing clean energy to the Malaysian grid and generating new revenue for our stakeholders.

"The Jakel Group as the new major shareholder has successfully provided a needed boost of both capital and project management expertise, while our reconstituted board is doing the right things to ensure the long-term sustainability of Cypark Resources," he added.

Datuk Ami expressed confidence that Cypark Resources is moving in the right direction to become a prominent energy provider in Malaysia, particularly with the upcoming delivery of the 60MWac Large Scale Solar 2 (LSS2) floating solar project in Kelantan.
