MARC Rating accords "Silver" impact assesment for Sunway Velocity Three's financing framework

KUALA LUMPUR: Sunway Velocity Three Sdn Bhd's (SV3) sustainable financing framework has received a "Silver" impact assessment from MARC Ratings Bhd.

SV3, formerly known as Tanda Warisan Sdn Bhd, is a property development company in which Sunway Bhd holds a 60 per cent interest via Sunway City Sdn Bhd.

Huatland Development Sdn Bhd owns the other 32 per cent, while CRSC Property Sdn Bhd owns the remaining 8 per cent.

All three entities are involved in property development and investment.

SV3 is currently developing serviced apartment buildings in Kuala Lumpur, which are accessible to public transportation.

SV3 aims to achieve green certification for these apartment buildings, in line with Sunway Group's policy for all new buildings completed from 2025 onwards to be green-certified.

The SVE's sustainable financing framework outlined its guiding principles for issuing sustainable financing instruments dedicated to eligible projects with environmental and social benefits.

MARC's rating acknowledges that SV3's framework meets internationally recognised standards and principles, underscoring its commitment to sustainability and responsible financial practices.

In determining the Silver assessment for the framework, MARC Ratings asserts that the impact of the Use of Proceeds is quite substantial, contributing to social and environmental benefits that align with nine out of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
