THE all-rounder Ducati is back! Next Bike Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of Ducati motorcycles in Malaysia for the last 15 years, has finally launched the Ducati SuperSport and SuperSport S. With strong Panigale overtones, the SuperSport is nevertheless a more approachable alternative for those who want the Ducati experience on a daily basis. The dynamic, polished and visually compact SuperSport is an easy-handling, everyday supersports machine.
Powered by the 937 cc Testastretta L-Twin, it delivers 113hp at 9000rpm and a linear 96.7Nm of torque at 6500rpm and boasts long maintenance intervals. The ubiquitious trellis frame exploits the engine as a load-bearing element and helps keep the wet weight of the SuperSport down to around 210kg. It also comes standard with the Ducati Safety pack - Bosch ABS and Ducati Traction Control. Three riding modes are on hand, Sport, Toring and Urban, to suit any condition you may encounter. In addition, each riding mode is customisable to your personal preferences or skill level.
The versatile SuperSport has a relaxed, but sporty riding position and flaunts its touring potential with good airflow management and height adjustable Plexiglas screen.
The 16-litre tank ensures a good touring range as well. Gracing the front end is a fully adjustable Marzocchi fork, while the rear monoshock is a Sachs shock with adjustable preload and rebound damping. Brembo discs, radial master pump and calipers stop the SuperSport with the aforementioned Bosch ABS.
The headlight is equipped with daytime running lights and instrumentation is full-LCD. Underneath the seat is a waterproof USB port.
The SuperSport is ready to be incorporated with the Ducati Multimedia system as well as being able to be retro-fitted with a quick shift system (standard on the S).
The S version of the SuperSport comes with fully adjustable Ohlins suspension, the Ducati Qucik Shift system (up/down) and a rear pillion seat cover, with the latter available as an accessory for the SuperSport as well. However, a full range of Ducati performance accessories are available for the SuperSport.
The Sport pack includes a carbonfibre front mudguard, carbonfibre fuel tank cover, articulated racing lever kit, billet aluminium covers for front and rear brake reservoirs.
The Touring Pack includes a pair of semi rigid panniers, a larger touring screen and heated grips. An Urban Pack has the tank bag and rubber lined rider and passenger footrests. More accessories are available, from an Akrapovic exhaust to billet and carbon components for the SuperSport, making it fully customisable to your personal taste.
The SuperSport comes in Ducati Red and retails for RM80,899 with Goods and Services Tax, while the S comes in both Ducati Red or Star White Silk and is yours for RM88,899 with GST.
