NAZA Kia Malaysia Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Kia vehicles in Malaysia, has launched the all-new Kia Picanto which is priced at RM49,888 excluding insurance.
The third-generation Picanto is the only new non-national contender in the competitive local A-segment. Powering the Picanto is a Kappa 1.2-litre MPI DOHC engine that produces 82 horsepower at 6,000rpm and 122 Nm of torque from 4,000rpm. The engine is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.
“The Malaysian automotive A-segment market is one of the most fiercely contested segments. With the introduction of the all-new Kia Picanto, we hope to tap this lucrative market segment and set the tone for our sales this year.
“We are confident that with this latest addition to the local Kia line-up, we will be able to achieve the Picanto’s sales target of 5,000 units. This model is important as it would account for 50 per cent of Naza Kia’s total sales target for this year,” said Naza Corp Holdings sdn Bhd group chief executive officer (automotive group) Datuk Samson Anand George during the launching ceremony.
The Picanto is equipped with LED daytime running lights with position lamps, LED rear combination lamps, a floating type seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple play and Android Auto function, multi-functional leather steering wheel, front- and rear-fog lamps, six speakers car audio system, electric-folding side mirrors and keyless entry with push-to-start button.
In terms of safety features, the Kia Picanto comes equipped with six airbags, a rear-view reverse camera, rear parking sensors, an anti-lock braking system, a brake assist system, electronic stability control, traction control and Isofix child seat anchor mounting points.
The car also has a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating.
To further add value to Kia vehicles, Naza Kia is also reintroducing the “NOVUS” Kia accessory bundle for all new Kia vehicles starting with the all-new Picanto.
There will be two NOVUS accessories packages available exclusive for the newest Kia Picanto - the all-new Picanto NOVUS X and the NOVUS S, which is priced at RM5,618 and RM3,498, respectively. Both the prices mentioned are inclusive of six per cent Goods and Services Tax.
Accessories included in the package are the NOVUS emblem, solar tints, NOVUS bodykits, leather seats and a digital video recorder among others.
The all-new Kia Picanto is available in five colour options, such as Pop Orange, Lime Light, Honey Bee, Clear White and Titanium Silver.
