Honda opens HR-V facelift for booking

HONDA Malaysia Sdn Bhd, the largest non-national carmaker in the country, has announced that the facelifted HR-V is now open for booking and is expected to be launched in the third quarter.

“On behalf of Honda Malaysia, I would like to thank Malaysians for their continuous trust and support for Honda. We have received overwhelming number of bookings during the zero-rated GST (Goods and Services Tax) period of June 2018.

“Due to the surge in bookings, waiting period for certain Honda models is between three and four months. Rest assured, Honda Malaysia is working hard to deliver the new vehicle to all the owners,” said its managing director and chief executive officer Toichi Ishiyama at a Raya open house event.

The company also previewed the RS variant for the new HR-V facelift.

“We believe that the new HR-V can attract customers who desire a sportier appearance. The enhancement in terms of exterior, features and also safety has resulted this model to be a complete package for customers,” said Ishiyama.

The RS variant is equipped with a sportier and attractive exterior, newly designed LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, LED fog lights, rear combi LED guide lights, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, sport design front grille, new front and rear bumper, dark chrome outer handle, black chrome licence garnish, sport black side sill and Honda LaneWatch.

There will be a new colour for the HR-V facelift — Passion Red Pearl, which is the first in Honda Malaysia’s colour line-up. Honda HR-V was first introduced in 2015. Since its introduction, it has received overwhelming interest and response from the customers with more than 72,000 units sold as at last month.

It retained its No. 1 position for three consecutive years in the compact sport utility vehicle segment.

The HR-V is also the company’s current second best-selling model, contributing 16 per cent of overall sales as at last month.

It is powered by a 1.8-litre single overhead cam i-VTEC engine combined with Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology continuous variable transmission (CVT) and maintains the multi-utility cargo space.

As for the standard safety features, it features six airbags, emergency stop signal, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist and the multi-angle rear-view camera.

Customers can visit to any of Honda’s 95 authorised dealers to place a booking for the new HR-V facelift now.
