DTC Motors to have two more showrooms in 2019

DTC Motors Sdn Bhd, a reconditioned (recon) cars dealership, which has been in the business for 34 years since 1984, plans to expand with two more showrooms this year.

The company started off in Taman Maluri, then shifted to Kampung Pandan in Kuala Lumpur. Six months ago, a new team, led by DTC Motors managing director Afendy Wahid, took over the business and moved the showroom to Lot 240, Jalan Ampang.

“Our aim is to provide better after sales service, maintain good relationships with our customers and to serve them better. We want to educate our customers about buying a good quality reconditioned car, instead of just looking for the cheapest deal in town.

“We are running an honest business (by offering our products at) competitive prices. Our price might be marginally higher than others because we import only superior quality cars and make sure its not involved an accidents,” said Afendy.

Afendy said DTC Motors imported most of the reconditioned cars from United Kingdom and Australia. The company also import some models from Japan.

“We have products to cater all type of customers, both continental and Japanese models. We have multi-purpose vehicles, sports utility vehicles, sedans, hatchbacks, all the way to high-end luxury and super (sports) cars,” said Afendy, who had more than 20 years of experience managing and running various businesses before taking over DTC Motors at the end of last year.

He said the cars’ price range were between RM95,000 and RM2 million.

“We do special orders, and services depending on the terms and conditions,” said Afendy.

The current showroom in Jalan Ampang can display 100 units of vehicles outdoor and 12 units inside the building.

“We collaborated with our panel partner EasyCare to give our customers an option from one to three years warranty,” Afendy said.

Afendy said the company had planned to expand two more showrooms this year.

“One showroom in Klang Valley, while the other is out of Kuala Lumpur, either in Kuantan or Alor Star. We are also looking at having our own 3S (sales, service and spare parts) centre in future.”

Afendy said the company had a sales target of 400 to 500 units for next year.

“Together with the new branches, we should be able to achieve our sales target,” Afendy said.

The company will have its DTC Motors Fest Grand Opening on Jan 12. There will be lucky draws, with hampers and electrical goods to be won. Food and drinks will be served at the event, as well as karaoke sessions, and local artistes.

“We will offer special prices for our products during this one day promotional event. Customers who book a unit during the vent is entitled to get a free Smart Tag, goodies bag, a Touch ‘n Go card and a holiday package,” said Afendy.

DTC Motors is open for business from 9.30am to 6pm on Monday to Satuday and 11am to 3pm on Sunday.
