BMW unveils two new sevens

KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Malaysia added two flagship vehicles to its Malaysian lineup today.

The 740Le xDrive in Pure Excellence variant sedan is priced at RM594,800 (on the road, without insurance and with BMW Group Malaysia's latest 5 year unlimited mileage warranty).

A Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), the new sedan is powered by a 3.0 litre six-cylinder petrol engine with an output of 286hp combined with an electric motor producing 113hp.

This is connected to an eight-speed Steptronic transmission driving the rear wheels.

Underneath the rear seat is a lithium ion battery which gives the car 46km of electric drive.

The 740Le has a claimed combined fuel consumption of 2.8 litres per 100km and a combined emission of 65 g/km.

Colour options are Mineral White, Black Sapphire, Bernina Grey and Imperial Blue.

Also unveiled at the event, held at Alya Kuala Lumpur was the X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence.

Priced at RM888,800, BMW's new sport utility vehicle is powered by a six-cylinder 3.0 litre engine with a maximum power of 340hp and peak torque of 450Nm.

The X7 has a 0 to 100kph time of 6.1 seconds.

Power is channeled to all wheels via an eight speed Steptronic Sport box.

The SUV comes with a two-axle air suspension, allowing the driver to adjust the height by up to 80mm.

The X7 is available in Mineral White, Black Sapphire, Artic Grey, Sophisto Grey, Phytonic Blue, Terra Brown and Vermont Bronze.
