Doxou Yamaha Y15ZR and NVX launched at Yamaha Gen Blu Carnival

KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Leong Yamaha Motor launched the Doxou versions of the venerable Y15ZR and NVX models at their Yamaha Gen Blu Carnival event held at MAEPS, Serdang.

Targeting the premium and sporty lifestyle segment, the new Doxou versions are showcased with striking Matte Blue and Sakura Copper livery and touted as sports fashion motorcycles.

Doxou is a new style concept by Yamaha and derived from the Japanese word ‘dokusou’, meaning original work.

It also means a comprehensive lifestyle clothing line complete with accessories such as headphones, bags and many more items.

Incidentally, purchase of the Doxou versions will come with free headphones, keychains and certificates of authenticity.

The running gear and motive power behind the new Doxou livery is exactly the same as the normal Y15ZR and NVX.

Pricing for the Doxou ‘YSuku’ however, is RM8,868 (RM700 more than the standard version) while the NVX’s price is to be announced soon.

The Yamaha Gen Blu Carnival itself was a success for Hong Leong Yamaha, and managed to earn a mention for it in the Malaysian Book of Records as the largest (single-make) gathering of Yamaha motorcycles in Malaysia.

A total of 11,836 Yamahas of all models converged upon the MAEPS facility to enjoy the many attractions and prizes.

Amongst the many prizes up for grabs were MotoGP tickets, motorcycles (the Grand Prize was a Yamaha MT-09) and a myriad of carnival games. HLYM also laid out their collection of classic Yamahas in a special air-conditioned tent while competitions for custom Yamahas were held in the centre court.

Other attractions include a stunt show, the NVX Challenge Cup races, safety riding courses, a plethora of food trucks and free ice-cream potong.

Besides all that, an appearance by singer and songwriter, Faizal Tahir meant that the showgoers were entertained with a selection of songs and a meet and greet session.
