KUALA LUMPUR: TC Euro Cars (TCEC) recently announced the official launching of the all-new Renault Megane RS together with its official pricing.
The hot hatch is priced at RM279,888 for the manual transmission variant and RM299,888 for the EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) automatic variant, similar to the estimated price announced during the media preview of the Megane RS back in April.
The new Renault Megane RS features a long list of technologies developed from the motorsport experiences of the French manufacturer.
It is fitted with 4CONTROL, which is a four-wheel steering system engineered to deliver exceptional agility at low speed and stability at high speed.
The rear wheels turn in the opposite direction at low speed and beyond the 60kph threshold, they turn in the same direction with the front wheels for better high-speed stability. This threshold is pushed to 100kph in RACE mode.
It is the only car in the segment to be equipped with such a feature.
Another feature is the four hydraulic compression stops on all shock absorbers.
The rally-inspired technology improves the suspension comfort in everyday driving, but the hydraulic stops filter out disruptions when adopting a sportier driving style.
In essence, these compression stops enable optimum tyre contact to the road at all times.
The new Renault Megane RS is powered by a new-generation turbocharged direct injection 1.8-litre engine that is capable of 280PS at 6,000rpm and 390Nm of torque from 2,400 to 4,500rpm.
This engine channels its output to front wheels via two choices of transmissions, both are six-speed units.
The new Renault Megane RS is covered by a three-year or 100,000km warranty (whichever comes first), and is supported by 18 authorised Renault dealers across Peninsular Malaysia.
