Locally-assembled BMW 330i M Sport now available

KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Malaysia has announced the arrival of the new BMW G20 3-Series as the latest addition in its local assembly line-up.

Available in the similar 330i M Sport trim as with the fully-imported (CBU) counterpart introduced earlier this year, the car now is priced at RM288,800 (on the road without insurance) which is a slash of RM40,000 from the CBU price. The price is inclusive of BMW’s latest 5-Year Unlimited Warranty, Free Scheduled Service Programme and BMW Tyre Warranty Programme.

Harald Hoelzl, managing director of BMW Group Malaysia said that the new model is locally assembled at its facility in Kulim, which also assembles eight other BMW models, with a total of ten variants.

He said: “Beyond providing our customers a wider mix of products in addition to our offering of fully imported models, we are pleased to once again deliver on our promise to growing our investments in the country as Malaysia continues to grow as a hub for the BMW Group in South East Asia.”

In terms of equipment, the model's specification is largely unchanged compared to the imported version of the BMW 330i M Sport. This includes adaptive LED headlights with bi-LED technology, 18-inch M light alloy wheels in Double-spoke style 790 M finished in Orbit Grey, M Sport brakes with blue-painted calipers and M logo, L-shaped tail lights with smoked glass, a pair of 90-mm tailpipes and M Sport body kit.

Under the hood is a 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo petrol engine that produces 258hp and 400Nm of torque from 1,550 to 4,400 rpm.

Paired with an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission, the car is able to sprint to 100kph in 5.8 seconds and reach a V-max of 250kph.

Chassis-wise, the G20 3-Series is 25kg lighter than its predecessor, thanks to a lighter structure construction on top of its more rigid characteristics.

Inside, apart from the M Sport leather steering wheel, key features include the Intelligent Personal Assistant and Digital Key, as well as the safety innovation in the form of the Park Assist and Reverse Assist, afforded by the Parking Assistant System.

The car also comes with BMW Live Cockpit Professional display boasting a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 10.25-inch touchscreen centre display. Both screens contain the latest BMW Operating System 7.0.

Currently, buyers may choose Alpine White, Black Sapphire and Mineral Grey colours for the new 330i M Sport. Portimao Blue will be available from January 2020 onwards while Sunset Orange from March 2020 onwards. These colours can be paired with Black Vernasca or Cognac Vernasca leather upholsteries.

With the Balloon Financing Plan from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, the New BMW 330i M Sport can be owned with monthly instalment plans starting from RM3,298.00 (based on estimates of an 80 per cent loan on a five-year tenure).
