KUALA LUMPUR: Do you know the right tyre for your car beyond slapping the right wheel-inch on it?
According to Goodyear Malaysia, the plan behind the newly unveiled Eagle F1 family is a start to effectively streamline the tyre grouping process for consumers, thus allowing ease of purchase of the right tyre for the right vehicle.
“We aim to match the requirements of our consumer needs,” says Goodyear APAC product director Jenner Powell.
“We’re always asking how can the car evolve in terms of mobility.
“Then we bring the question to consumers as to what is the application you want for your vehicle.
“Grouping and naming allows consumers to decide what is meant for what.”
According to Goodyear the tyres: the SuperSport RS, SuperSport R, SuperSport, Asymmetric 5 and the Asymmetric 3 SUV, are focused on bringing track experience to road use with superior grip while maintaining the drivers performance and stability especially during wet conditions.
“Racing is in our DNA. Throughout the years, Goodyear has been involved in many races such as Nascar, Le Mans and the British Touring Car Championship.
“Therefore, it is inevitable that we will once again align ourselves with high-speed motorsports,” says Goodyear Malaysia managing director Alex Ng.
“We continue to innovate our tyres by incorporating cutting-edge technology to differentiated them.
“The most important aspect is that motorsports allows us to test our capabilities and push our limits so that we can eventually achieve excellent technology transfer and utilise development experience from the tracks to the road.”
The prices of the tyres have yet to be finalised and an additional, unnamed Eagle F1 mid-sport variant will be launched sometime next year.
