Hino celebrates 100,000 sales milestone

PETALING JAYA: Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (HMSM) marked another milestone with the delivery of the 100,000th unit Hino truck to its existing customer, Ikhasas Resources Sdn Bhd.

The handover ceremony also leveraged more than 40 years of Hino empire in Malaysia, proving the company’s product stability in the Malaysian market as well as aligning with customer trust and satisfaction.

Managing director of HMSM Atsushi Uchiyama said at the event: “Since our establishment in Malaysia in 1977, HMSM has grown and reached the accumulated sales of 100,000 units.

“We are motivated to know that we have stood as part of the logistics and distribution industry in Malaysia to delivering the goods with our passion ‘Transporting Every Happiness’.

“Thank you to all our esteemed customers for the continuous support and trust with the Hino brand,” he said.

Together with the remarkable sales milestone, Uchiyama took the opportunity to present a trip to Japan including a visit to Hino Motos Limited to Dato’ Roslan Zainal, director of Ikhasas Resources as an appreciation reward.

The 100,000th truck is the Hino 500 Series FM2PN1D model, a medium duty truck with a 6x4 drive configuration.

Based on the data released by the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA), HMSM is ranked at the top position of the overall truck and secured 37 percent market share in Malaysia.

Meanwhile in the bus segment, the company clenched more than half of the market share, at 61.9 per cent.

HMSM delivered a total of 5,520 units of vehicle throughout 2019.
