Are you running out of games to play? If you’re a PS Plus subscriber, you will get a number of free games for multiple PlayStation platforms. Here’s the official free games lineup for the month, writes Aiman Maulana
1. TELLTALE’S GAME OF THRONES: THE COMPLETE SEASON
First up, we have Telltale’s Game of Thrones, based on the HBO television series. It follows House Forrester, a family of the minor nobility and bannermen to House Glover, who’s well known for their Ironwood trees and their imposing stronghold Ironrath. The story coincides with the ending of Season 3 of the TV series, and ends right before the beginning of Season 5 as they survive the War of the Five Kings.
As usual, you’ll have the standard Telltale Games narrative style where every choice you make may lead you to different outcomes, whether it is to your liking or not. Players will visit familiar places such as King’s Landing and the Wall, and meet characters like Tyrion, Cersei and Jon Snow. Winter is coming and this is a great way to beat the summer heat.
2. FAT PRINCESS ADVENTURES
The next major highlight of the lineup is Fat Princess Adventures. Made by the same people who brought you the original game, this new casual multiplayer role-playing game from Fun Bits Interactive serves up a generous helping of the cheeky, light-hearted humour that made the PlayStation 3 game a hit.
Up to four friends can team up for a not-so-epic adventure to slay monsters, steal loot, rescue the princesses, gobble cake and defeat the evil Bitter Queen. Your band of comrades will stab, smash, grab and grub your way through the land of Great Bitten with all the mischief that you would expect from a Fat Princess RPG.
3. HATOFUL BOYFRIEND
Do you like dating simulators? And do you have a fondness of birds? Now, you can enjoy both at the same time with Hatoful Boyfriend.
As the protagonist in this simulator game with birds, you are the only human to be accepted a St. PigeoNation’s Institute, a school for talented birds. There are multiple partners that you can pair up with. Each has its own unique settings and storylines.
Players can go through classes in St. PigeoNation to obtain stat boosts that will make it easier to bend others to your will. As polygamy isn’t possible in the game, you’ll have to play this game multiple times to get the complete experience that Hatoful Boyfriend has to offer.
4. EAT THEM!
Developed by Fuzzy Logic, this is an arcade game where you take on the role of disgraced government scientist Dr Wilder. You are to create an array of giant monsters to wreak havoc on the comic-inspired, cel-shaded city streets. Eat people for power and destroy everything in your path using heavy-hitting melee weapons, mortars, powerful long-range lasers and other weapons of destruction.
The game can be played with up to four players in co-op mode. As there will be more destruction when played with multiple players, the SWAT units, army and the air force will be cranked up in difficulty, which will indirectly results in even more chaos. Will you be able to turn the world into a barren wasteland?
5. ELEMENT 4L
Made by the folks at I-Illusions, Element4l is an immersive and experimental indie platform game, with a strong focus on flow and smooth gameplay, wrapped in Mind Tree’s soundtrack. In the game, you control four elements that are bound together on a journey to shape life.
There are no enemies or weapons, as your only obstacles are nature and the sun. Even so, it’s no walk in the park as players need to take different, innovative approaches to classic platform games, which will challenge players to rearrange their reflexes. As Element4l is a more puzzle-focused platformer, it will be quite challenging for newcomers. The developers describe it as a struggle that is akin to learning how to ride a bicycle for the first time.
6. DECEPTION IV: THE NIGHTMARE PRINCESS
This revolves around Laegrinna, a deceitful fragment of the Devil’s soul who chooses between Sadistic Torment, Elaborate Death or Humiliating Demise to defeat her foes through trickery. The story begins when 12 warriors known as the Saints subdued and subsequently sealed the devil using the Holy Verses.
This time, players not only relive Laegrinna’s entire pursuit to free her father, the Devil, from his eternal prison, players will be introduced to an entirely new, wickedly sadistic and infernally mischievous character, Velguirie. This game is not a different region’s version of Deception IV: Blood Ties but rather, an expansion to the game.
