New Apple Park takes centre stage for iPhone's 10th anniversary

SAN JOSE, California: Apple is celebrating the iPhone's 10th anniversary this year, and the company is expected to make several major product announcements, including on the iPhone 8, at a special event here tomorrow.

For the first time also, Apple will be making its product-unveiling at the brand new Steve Jobs Theatre at the also-new 175-acre ring-shaped Apple Park in Cupertino, California.

Envisioned by Apple founder Steve Jobs as a centre for creativity and collaboration, the Apple Park is transforming miles of asphalt sprawl into a haven of green space in the heart of the Santa Clara Valley. The campus’ ring-shaped, 2.8 million-sq-ft main building is clad entirely in the world’s largest panels of curved glass.

For Apple fans though, the venue itself is the main attraction, as this is the first time it will be used for a major announcement. The Steve Jobs Theatre is said to have a capacity of about 1,000 people, and is a state-of-the-art building in itself.

The New Straits Time will be bringing you the latest from the Steve Jobs Theatre in Apple Park tomorrow. Stay tuned!
