KUALA LUMPUR: Korean superstar Park BoGum turned the centre court of the Pavilion Mall into a frenzy concert-like arena as he joined hands with Samsung Malaysia executives to launch the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+.
Some of them have come as early as 9am to see their favourite Korean superstar who made an appearance for the launch at around 7pm.
While it was the S9 and S9+’s new and innovative features that drew the attention of tech lovers and enthusiasts, it was the special appearance of Park BoGum that sent the crowd into a frenzy.
Through the Galaxy S9 and S9+’s new features such as Super Slow-mo video recording, the ‘Love in the Moonlight’ prince melted the hearts of three very lucky Malaysian fans as he tested the phone’s Slow-mo feature with them on the stage.
THE NEW S9 & S9+
The flagship phones from the Korean tech giant now come with exciting new features that will surely make social media users and photography enthusiasts happy.
The Galaxy S9 and S9+ now come with new AR Emoji, Super Slow-mo and Super Low-light features. These features enable users to discover and re-imagine a whole new level of visual communication, tailored to their own unique voices.
CAMERA REIMAGINED
Cameras are the main strength of the Galaxy S9 and S9+ where they are built with the consumers in mind.
They feature Super Speed Dual Pixel sensor with dedicated processing power and memory to take quality shots.
The phones now offer Dual Aperture camera (F1.5 / F2.4) that can automatically adjusts to the lighting conditions by letting in more light when it is dark through its greater aperture lens (F1.5) or switching to its lower aperture lens (F2.4) under bright light, ensuring that photos taken are crisp and clear.
AR EMOJI
Users are also now able to express themselves in brand-new ways with the S9 and S9+’s AR Emoji and Super Slow-mo features.
With these features, users to create an emoji that looks and acts almost exactly like them, while the Super Slow-mo function (video recording of up to 960 frames per second) allows them to expand their creativity with utmost fun.
Besides that, Bixby is now able to translate foreign languages and currencies instantly by image, provide useful information about your surroundings, and so much more.
ENTERTAINMENT
The phones stereo speakers are tuned by AKG, and the audio also support Dolby Atmos, giving the effect of a 360-degree, cinematic sound.
Besides that, the Infinity Display on the Galaxy S9 and S9+ were given an upgrade as well.
Featuring a new, bold, and bright Super AMOLED Infinity Display that looks gorgeous even under direct sunlight.
CONNECTED LIFESTYLE
As the first smartphone to support the new SmartThings app, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ are the central hub to manage every facet of the connected lifestyle at home, at the office, or on the go.
The phones are rated IP68 for water and dust resistance, and has expandable memory capability of up to 400GB via a Micro SD Card.
The Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be available starting tomorrow, March 16, 2018. Offered at a recommended retail price from RM3,299 to RM4,399, it will be available in Midnight Black, Coral Blue and Lilac Purple.
