Toshiba unveils new laptop range for users on the go

KUALA LUMPUR: Toshiba Singapore Pte Ltd has announced the new X-Series (E-Generation) laptops designed to support users on the move, offering the latest 8th Generation Intel Core processors.

They are the Tecra X40-E, Portégé X30-E, and Portégé X20W-E. All the X series laptops come with DDR4 (2400MHz) RAM and equipped with a new 1TB PCIe SSD.

The Portégé X30-E is equipped with a non-reflective touchscreen and brand new In-Cell Touch technology that enables professionals to navigate and interact with content without compromising the design or display of the device.

“The launch of our new devices further demonstrates our ambition to provide the fastest and most powerful laptops for professionals on the go,” said Toshiba Singapore Managing Director Wu Tengguo.

“We understand that our users’ working patterns are continuing to evolve, and so we aim to provide laptops that offer them the same performance, regardless of where they’re working from. Our latest range will provide a mix of high performance, security, mobility and connectivity – and is ideal for today’s business users.”

Constructed to protect businesses’ data, these laptops feature a touchpad with an in-built fingerprint reader called SecurePad and an optional IR-camera for face authentication through Windows Hello or Intel Authenticate.

With Toshiba’s own built-in BIOS and TPM 2.0 encryption, users are further assured that the risk of third party interference is significantly reduced.

The X-series units offer an ultra-light design with the Portégé X20W-E being 15.4mm wide and weighing just 1.1kg, while the 15.9mm Portégé X30-E weighs only 1.05kg, and the Tecra X40-E is just 16.9mm thin and weighs in 1.25kg.

All of Toshiba’s devices have passed rigorous and independent HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Test) which simulates three years of use, to ensure reliability and durability to withstand the pressures of everyday working life.

The Toshiba Tecra X40-E, Portégé X30-E, and Portégé X20W-E will be available from second quarter of 2018.
