HMD Global launches Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 1

KUALA LUMPUR: Nokia fans, today’s a day to be excited because the essential Nokia 1 and highly anticipated Nokia 7 Plus have arrived in Malaysia.

The devices were among the four new Nokia phones that HMD Global launched at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this year.

Nokia 7 Plus, boasting a 6-inch FHD+ display and 18:9 aspect ratio, has a gently curved back and slim edges for a neat package.

Combined with sensitive wide-angle 12MP rear and 13MP telephoto lens with ZEISS optics that delivers 2x optical zoom, and 16MP front camera, the enhanced dual-sight makes it able to capture the front and back images simultaneously.

The phone is backed by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 mobile platform which runs with latest Android 8.0 Oreo.

In terms of memory, Nokia 7 Plus has a 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.

Powered by a 3800mAh battery, it uses a USB Type-C for charging, and is said to last for two days on a single charge.

Targeted for first-time smartphone users or those migrating to feature phone, the Nokia 1 brings refreshingly familiar Nokia phone design which features the iconic ‘Nokia smile’ in a fresh new package.

The Nokia 1 is powered by 1.1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737M processor and comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB storage.

The 4.5-inch phone has a 5MP primary camera with LED flash and 2MP front-facing camera.

Running the latest Android Oreo (Go edition), a version of Android for devices with 1GB RAM or less, the Nokia 1 is optimised for smoother user experience.

These include the Google Go features - a web search app, Google Maps Go, YouTube Go, and Google Assistant for Android (Go edition).

The phone is juiced up by a removable 2150mAh battery power.

The Nokia 1 will be available from April 13 for RM339, while Nokia 7 Plus will start selling from April 20 for RM1,699.
