KUALA LUMPUR: Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 11 series for international availability during a live-streamed video on Xiaomi media platforms.
The series pushes forward the Redmi Note legacy with four all-new devices–the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 11 Pro, Redmi Note 11S and Redmi Note 11.
CAMERA
Making flagship-level smartphone performance more accessible, especially in mobile photography, the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G features a tri-camera setup which includes the 108MP ISOCELL HM2 mobile image sensor as its primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, and a 2MP macro camera.
Both the Redmi Note 11 Pro, and Redmi Note 11S on the other hand, feature a quad-camera setup which include a 108MP main sensor, 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, and a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth camera.
The Redmi Note 11 also features a quad-camera setup different only with its 50MP main sensor.
The Pro 5G, Pro and the 11S variants sport a 16MP in-display front camera while the Note 11 comes with a 13MP camera.
PROCESSOR
The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G is powered by the advanced octa-core processor Snapdragon 695, a chipset with support for both 5G frequencies—sub-6 and mmWave in the 6-series offering high-bandwidth, low-latency connections.
As for the Note 11 Pro and Note 11S, both phones are equipped with an octa-core MediaTek Helio G96 processor and up to 8GB of RAM.
The Note 11 on the other hand runs on the Snapdragon 680 mobile platform which was purpose-built for extended multimedia play.
DISPLAY
The Redmi Note 11 series enhances screen experience with smoother animations and lag-free transitions with high refresh rate display up to 120Hz, and a more precise finger touch with touch sampling rate up to 360 Hz on the 6.67-inch (for Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 11 Pro) and 6.43-inch (Redmi Note 11S and Redmi Note 11) FHD+ Amoled DotDisplay, featuring DCI-P3 wide colour gamut screen.
The display is packed into a trendy flat-edge body design. Plus, with dual super linear speakers located at the top and bottom of the phone, the Redmi Note 11 series offers a complete entertainment experience with immersive stereo sound for all-kind entertainments.
BATTERY
In terms of battery capacity, all four Redmi Note 11 series devices are equipped with a 5,000mAh large-capacity battery.
When it comes to charging, the Redmi Note 11S and Redmi Note 11 both come with 33W Pro fast charging where users can reach full charge in about one hour while the Pro 5G and 11 Pro support flagship-level charging with a 67W turbo charging in, which only needs 15 minutes to reach the 50 per cent marker.
IMUI 13
In addition to the smartphone launch, Xiaomi also announced the rollout of its next generation operating system, MIUI 13 to international markets.
Announcing the release was Xiaomi International head of PR and communications, Daniel Desjarlais who shared the number of current IMUI users around the globe.
"As of Q4, 2021, MIUI monthly active users surpassed 500 million. This makes Xiaomi phones the third most popular smartphone in use," he said.
This latest generation operating system offers an all-round upgrade with a focus on improving core experience—including faster storage, higher background process efficiency, smarter processing, and longer battery life—alongside other useful features.
The first wave of roll outs for MIUI 13 will kick-start within Q1 2022 to selected devices, with the release schedule to be gradually published on the MIUI website.
SMART AIR PURIFIER
Also announced at the same event is Xiaomi's Smart Air Purifier 4 series.
Celebrating over 16 million shipments worldwide, Xiaomi also upgraded its widely-acclaimed Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier Series with three new variants - Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Pro, 4, and 4 Lite.
The new Pro model features a 3-in-1 filtration system that combines electrostatic charge and mechanical filtration technologies to trap 99.97 per cent of air pollutants. To ensure maximised filtration efficiency, it also integrates both PM2.5 and PM10 sensors to precisely detect inhalable particles of different sizes.
VARIANTS AND AVAILABILITY
The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G comes in Graphite Gray, Polar White, and Atlantic Blue while the Redmi Note 11 Pro is also available in Graphite Gray, Polar White, and Star Blue. As for the Redmi Note 11S, the phone comes also in three colours Graphite Gray, Twilight Blue, and Pearl White. All three models are available in three memory options – 6GB+64GB, 6GB+128GB, or 8GB+128GB.
The Redmi Note 11 is available in three option colours and they are Graphite Gray, Twilight Blue, as well as Star Blue in three variants – 4GB+64GB, 4GB+128GB, and 6GB+128GB.
The exact availability date and price range for the Redmi Note 11 series in the Malaysian market has yet to be announced.
