KUALA LUMPUR: Xiaomi has collaborated with National Geographic to share cultural shots with the latest Xiaomi 12 Series.
The 'Proactive Action' campaign for Xiaomi aims to create interest and preserve the culture of Southeast Asia and the participating photographers include Malaysia's Annice Lyn, the Philippines' Gab Mejia, Thailand's Sirachai "Shin" Arunrugstichai, and Vietnam's Linh Pham.
Xiaomi International Southeast Asia's general manager, KM Leong said "The Xiaomi 12 Pro can capture visual stories with its 50MP camera array and complemented with Xiaomi's AI algorithm. We look forward to seeing how the featured National Geographic Photographers will master every scene."
Proactive Action will feature photos and short videos with themes chosen by each photographer using Xiaomi 12 Pro's triple 50MP camera, ProFocus, and Ultra Night Video.
"My favourite feature on the Xiaomi 12 Pro is the Photo mode that works best for evening scenes as the stars make their appearance. The second is the Ultra Night Mode which has enhanced low-light shooting capabilities that helped me with my Wayang kulit, 'tok dalang', and gamelan musician shots. Finally, the Motion Tracking Focus frames and focuses my videos as I shoot while moving," Lyn said.
The global technology leader has also organised the Xiaomi Photography Academy for participants to appreciate shots taken by Annice Lyn with the Xiaomi 12 Pro.
The Xiaomi Photography Challenge will be held from May 13 to June 13 on Xiaomi Malaysia's Facebook page for fans to win prizes including the Xiaomi 12 smartphone, Xiaomi Watch S1, and more.
The themes are 'People, life and culture of Southeast Asia'.
*Photos submitted will need to meet the following requirements:
*Photos must be taken and edited with Xiaomi / Redmi phones only. No hardware other
than your Xiaomi / Redmi phones may be used for taking the photo;
*Photos must contain EXIF information; and
Photos should be between 300K - 50M. Each Participant can only upload a maximum of
five (5) Photos during the competition period.
