KUALA LUMPUR: Samsung officially introduced the Galaxy S23 series at its Galaxy Unpacked event on February 2.
The main highlight was its improved camera — the Galaxy S23 Ultra boasts a 200MP main camera, which marks a first for Samsung devices.
Users will be able to capture images with incredible precision thanks to Samsung's new Adaptive Pixel sensor, which supports multiple levels of high-resolution processing.
They can also choose between 12MP, 50MP or 200MP resolution pictures depending on their needs.
MADE FOR EVERY MOMENT
The Galaxy S23 series performs well in varying lighting conditions, making it easier for photographers of all levels to capture pictures during the day or night.
Each device comes with enhanced Nightography capabilities — an improved camera algorithm which optimises photos and videos in a wide range of ambient conditions, allowing users to capture the rich details of backlit photos.
The 12MP front-facing camera has Dual Pixel Auto Focus for crisp selfies with less noise in low-light settings, as well as natural bokeh effects.
Samsung has also doubled the optical image stabiliser (OIS) tolerance of Galaxy S23 devices to reduce shakiness and maintain clarity.
UNLEASH CREATIVITY
One core emphasis of the Galaxy S23 is to provide users with extensive creative controls to express their passion, be it filming a concert, snapping a selfie at the aquarium or grabbing a group shot of friends at dinner.
Some of these creative features include:
- Wider angle for users to capture enhanced 8K videos with a cinematic feel
- Advanced, object-based artificial intelligence to analyse details within the frame, down to minute facial features like hair and eyes
- Expert RAW app for DSLR-style shooting and editing for creative control and customisation
- 360-degree audio recording by using both sides of the Galaxy Buds2 Pro
- New zoom capabilities on the Galaxy Watch5 series' Camera Controller app
The Samsung Galaxy S23 lineup includes the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra.
There are eight colour variations to choose from: Phantom Black, Cream, Green, Lavender, Lime, Sky Blue, Graphite and Red.
