Boh celebrates International Tea Day

Each year, International Tea Day is celebrated on May 21 in tea-producing countries to celebrate the drink and to draw attention to the impact of international tea trade on workers and growers, and to support fair trade.

Tea grower and producer Boh Malaysia has been marking this by celebrating the unsung heroes behind the brand – the people who grow, process and deliver the quality tea that Boh is synonymous with.

"Our plantation teams wake up well before the crack of dawn each day to harvest the tea leaves, tend to our 1,200 hectares of tea gardens and handle other production tasks. They are our unsung heroes who make it possible for us to roll-out from our production factories the 4.5 million kg of tea annually or its equivalent of 5.5 million cups of tea daily that make its way to different parts of Malaysia, as well as other parts of the world," says Boh Plantations Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Jason Foo.

"We salute each of them for their passion and dedication not only on International Tea Day but every day," he says.

This year, the brand is inviting all tea lovers as well as the general public to do their bit for the environment. All it takes is three three simple steps - Smile, Snap and Share, and you will be making your mark in a special way in Boh's International Tea Day celebration.

Just capture the best photo of you enjoying Boh teas and share your photo on your personal feed by June 5, which also marks World Environment Day.
