KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Zizi Kirana who is also the former vocalist of The Fabulous Cats wants you to know that she has no qualms about standing up against Datuks who try to court her, and keyboard warriors who try to bring her down.
She raps about this through her newly-released single titled Boleh Jalan, written by rapper W.A.R.I.S and produced by music producer DJ Fuzz.
The lyrics have garnered mixed reactions from Netizens, who reckoned the message of the song was a little too harsh.
“Frankly I was also a little surprised by the bold lyrics when I heard it for the first time. But either way I loved it and I thought the message was on point,” said the 31-year-old in a news report by Harian Metro recently.
Zizi, whose full name is Nurfazelah Zizi Mad Tahlil said she isn’t bothered by criticism from Netizens, for as long as listeners understood the message it conveys.
Knowing that the song is not everyone’s cup of tea, Zizi said she would understand if the tune did not receive airplay across all Malay radio stations.
The music video has received more than 280,000 views on YouTube since it was released about two weeks ago.
