Lady Killers to liven things up in annual New Zealand Annual Dinner and Dance

KUALA LUMPUR: A bevy of entertainers will be revving up the annual New Zealand Annual Dinner and Dance at Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur this Saturday.

Leading the pack is popular all women trio, Lady Killers, who are known for their unique cross genre performances ranging from pop, rhythm and blues, jazz, country and rock and roll.

This will be their fourth appearance in the annual dinner organised by the Malaysia-New Zealand Chambers of Commerce (MNZCC).

MNZCC chairman Richard Tankersley said a member of the Lady Killers, Jackie Clarke, will also be the host for the night.

Tankersley added the group will be joined by guest artist, Annie Crumer, who is one of the New Zealand’s popular singer songwriter.

“We have picked Crumer as our special guest artist because of her voice, alternately husky and soaring which sets her voice apart from other vocalists.

“This year, we are also bringing in Kiwi’s own ‘keyboardist extraordinaire’, Stephen Small which will surely amaze our guests with his skills.

“The night will also be a celebration of our 25th anniversary here in Malaysia and I am so excited to see our performers represents Kiwi’s speciality and charm our crowd with their amazing voices,” he told the New Straits Times.

He said the aim of the dinner is to celebrate the relationship between Malaysia and New Zealand, and to strengthen ties between dignitaries and expatriates.

Tankersley said the gala, which is a popular annual event since 2002, is expected to attract 800 people both Malaysian and expatriates living in Malaysia.

Besides the performances, party-goers will be feted to a four-course dinner with Kiwi fine food and wine, and lucky draws.

Those expected to attend the event include Deputy Secretary General of International Trade and Industry Ministry Datuk Isham Ishak, New Zealand High Commissioner to Malaysia Dr John Subritzky and Malaysian Investment Development Authority chief executive officer Datuk Azman Mahmud.

Sponsors and supporters include Malaysia Airlines, Dialog Group Bhd, Fonterra Promex, New Zealand Unlimited, Heineken, Sharing-La Hotel, Promac, Datacom Southeast Asia (M) Sdn Bhd and Zenne.
