(Showbiz) Remy Ishak 'haunted' by pontianak while rehearsing for new horror film

KUALA LUMPUR: While busy preparing for his new film that combines horror and mythology, popular actor Remy Ishak has received ‘visits’ by the very female vampire he interacts with on screen.

The star of “29 Februari” and the coming epic “Pulang” recently tweeted that "someone interesting" had begun to spice up his "mundane" daily life - a beautiful yet terrifying pontianak who happens to be the antagonist in his latest project “The Legend Of Pontianak”.

Remy tweeted: "Nothing much is interesting these days, but the script of my new film is ‘tormenting’ me. Everywhere I go, I see my terrifying co-star - the vampire!"

Netizens have been sympathetic to Remy, and many have encouraged him to "fight" against his nightmares, as he does in most of his movies.

One of them, Amsa M N said: "The vampire’s appearance is likely a sign of negative energy coming your way. We can resolve this with prayer, good thoughts and kind words. These repel evil spirits which are negative thoughts."

While most of Remy's fans on social media advised him to pray and relax his mind, there have also been detractors who claimed that he was "seeking cheap publicity".

"It's cheap marketing!" said a netizen identified as Fadzrin.

“The Legend Of Pontianak” is being filmed at Pasir Salak, Perak and it also stars Nur Fazura Sharifuddin.
