1,000 at MPTN screenings

AT the unveiling of new content offerings for 2018 by Media Prima Television Networks (MPTN) yesterday, about 1,000 people packed the hall at The Majestic Hotel here.

Motorists passing by the hotel yesterday afternoon might have wondered what was happening there since the traffic congestion in Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin heading for the city centre started earlier than usual.

MPTN chief executive officer Johan Ishak welcomed guests at the event, which included clients, celebrities and media practitioners.

Present were Media Prima Berhad group managing director Datuk Kamal Khalid, New Straits Times Press editor-in-chief Datuk Yushaimi Yahaya, Primeworks Studios chief executive officer Datuk Izham Omar, Primeworks Studios’ group general manager Azhar Borhan and Media Prima Berhad group finance general manager Tengku Iesta Tengku Alaudin.

The crowd was pleasantly surprised to see the gentlemen take to the stage not to give speeches, although Johan gave one while unveiling the lineup, but to perform a few songs as a band called D’Kechewas.

Kamal was on drums, Yushaimi played the bass and Tengku Iesta was the vocalist.
