Altimet sees red at Iqram's attempt to 'join' his AJL32 performance

KUALA LUMPUR: Hip-hop star Altimet, whose infectious hit Amboi earned him Best Performance at Anugerah Juara Lagu 32 (AJL32) last Sunday, almost had a “special guest" join him on stage, and he is not amused.

The Ola Bola The Musical star, whose "red warrior" costume was a hit with audiences, was nearly joined by "yellow warrior" Iqram Dinzly, whose attempt to gate-crash Amboi was quickly thwarted by staff guarding the stage of AJL32's venue, Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil.

Thankful to Media Prima staff for stopping the troubled actor, Altimet tweeted cynically that they had successfully saved Iqram him from "getting hurt".

"I've just learnt that Iqram attempted to dance with me on stage in AJL32. Thank you, Media Prima staff for stopping him, you've saved him from getting injured.

"This is hip hop, brother! If you want to gate crash, be prepared for shoulder, kick or fist. We're different!"

Altimet also tweeted that he left the stage shortly after Hael Husaini Razmi was awarded Best Song prize of RM50,000 for Jampi.

He reasoned that Iqram successfully came on stage to congratulate Hael, despite earlier being barred.

"I chose to ‘chow’ when it was Hael's turn to get his prize, because I didn't want any trouble to crop up," said Altimet, alluding to a potential confrontation between him and Iqram.

Altimet received RM12,000 for Best Performance, his first in AJL.

Iqram has raised controversy and concern amongst Netizens with his strange social media posts and behaviour since last December. Many of his posts have received negative comments from social media users who have suggested that he seek psychiatric help.

His actions were believed to have been triggered by his father's death from a stroke on Oct 10.
