TURNING 3 when you are one of the most popular cats in Malaysia only calls for a grand birthday do, proving that not only humans know how to celebrate birthdays in style.
Bujibu Chempel, the popular British shorthair owned by celebrity couple Hairul Azreen and Hanis Zalikha, was treated to a fancy feast to celebrate its birthday by Purina Malaysia, of which it is the brand ambassador.
“For the past two years, our family celebrated Bujibu’s birthday with a small and intimate party, complete with its own birthday cake.
“But, this year, he gets to celebrate his third birthday with a birthday bash alongside his furry friends,” said Hanis at the birthday party at SPCA Malaysia on Monday.
Hanis describes Bujibu as a family member who brought joy.
“He is a blessed cat who lives a pretty fancy lifestyle, as we tend to spoil him.
“When we leave him at home to go to work, we make sure that the air-conditioning is on since so that he is not hot. We also leave the television on in case he gets bored,” said Hanis.
“I never expected my cat to gain so much popularity over the years to the point that he lands his own reality show and becomes a brand ambassador.”
The plump cat, whose aloof and grumpy personality has captured the hearts of many, has amassed 1.1 million Instagram followers, even beating out some popular and well-known Malaysian celebrities.
